ON THE RIVERS

Meet the Director of the Navy:

Director Daniel D. Currier

Daniel Dustin Currier was born in New Jersey in November 1954. After proudly serving in the United States Navy during the late 1970s, he relocated to Florida to begin a new chapter. It was during this era that he wed his wife, Janet, on March 8, 1980. Five years later, on March 14, 1985, the couple welcomed their daughter, Rachel Currier, whom Daniel raised with deep affection and devotion. Over the years, Daniel’s family continued to grow, eventually making him the proud grandfather to five grandsons: one born to his eldest son, Daniel Jr., and four born to his daughter, RachelAmong Rachel’s sons is Aiden McLain, who would go on to forge a historic political path. McLain served as Second Chair President from February 2, 2025, until August 2, 2026, before ascending to the position of First Chair President on August 2, 2026. Shortly after taking office, President McLain appointed his grandfather as Head of the Navy, a strategic and deeply personal decision driven by Daniel’s extensive naval experience and their unshakeable family bond.
